TURKISH BREAD

traditional Turkish flatbread that you can make right at home. fluffy and so easy to make in less than 2 hours without kneading to make. Fresh out of the oven, this bread is fluffy and perfect!

TURKISH BREAD

Dough

  • 2 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
    Egg Wash
  • 1 tablespoon plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 large egg
    Toppings
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon nigella seeds
  • In a large bowl mix add water and sugar, Sprinkle the yeast on top and stir to combine. In another bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
  • Pour the dry ingredients over the wet. Using a spatula or your hands, mix the ingredients together. Cover and let it sit at room temperature for 45 minutes to rise.
  • Preheat the oven to 400F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper .Gently release the air in the dough by turning it upside down in the bowl.
  • Transfer it onto the baking sheet and spread it in the pan, wetting your fingers occasionally and pressing on the dough. Give it a round or oval shape.
  • Wet your fingertips and make a circle on the dough . This will be the edge of the bread.
    And then again with your fingertips make a diagonal pattern on it. press on the dough as much as you can when making the pattern. Let it sit for 25 min.
  • For the topping, whisk together the yogurt and egg well. Spread this mixture over the bread with a brush .
  • Sprinkle seeds over it and bake until golden, for about 25 minutes. slice and enjoy.
