(Tuna Sushi Rolls)
- 1cup cooked sushi rice
- 2 tablespoons sushi vinegar
- 2 sheets nori
- 5 ounces tuna in water
- 1/2 cucumber, cut into strips
- 1/2 Carrot , cut into strips Carrot
- 1/2 avocado, pitted, peeled, and sliced the long way
- 1 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoons sriracha sauce
- for GARNISH black or white sesame seeds
(California Roll Sushi)
- 1 cup cooked sushi rice
- 2 tablespoons sushi vinegar
- 2 sheets nori
- 1/2 avocado, pitted, peeled, and sliced the long way
- 1/2 cucumber, cut into strips
- 1/2 Carrot , cut into strips Carrot
- 1/4 pound imitation crab, sliced into stick
- 1 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoons sriracha sauce
- for GARNISH black or white sesame seeds
- Blend the rice and vinegar. Mix seasoned rice vinegar into the sushi rice Wrap a bamboo mat with plastic wrap and place it on a flat surface .
- Lay a sheet of nori, shiny side facing down on the bamboo mat and place about 1/2 cup of rice in the center of the sheet.
- Wet your fingers with water and spread the rice evenly across the nori sheet.
- Turn the nori sheet over so the rice is facing down and carefully slide the sheet close to the edge of the bottom of the bamboo mat.
- Place the cucumber, Carrot imitation crab, and avocado at the bottom of the nori sheet.
- (For spicy California rolls) start by spreading spicy mayo across the bottom of the nori sheet about 1 teaspoon and top with cucumber, Carrot imitation, crab, and avocado.
- Grab the bottom edges of the mat with your thumbs while holding on to the toppings with your other fingers. Roll it into a tight cylinder, tucking the fillings in firmly and slightly lift the edge of the bamboo mat.
- Roll it forward while using a little pressure but not so much that the filling spills out. Let go of the mat when you get to the other end.
- Cut the roll in half and each half into thirds and GARNISH with black or white sesame seeds .
- Serve with soy sauce and wasabi on the side enjoy!
