STUFFED GRAPE LEAVES WITH LAMB
These grape leaves stuffed with ground lamb and Very popular in Armenian and turkey a family favorite, these stuffed grape leaves are filled with lamb, rice and lemon juice!


STUFFED GRAPE LEAVES WITH LAMB
- 1 jar grape leaves
- 1 lb ground lamb
- 2 cups uncooked rice
- ½ cups fresh parsley
- ½ cup cilantro
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 yellow onion, chopped
- ½ teaspoons salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- Combine all filling ingredients and mix well in
bowl. - Place a leaf, shiny side down a clean working space. Place about one teaspoon of filling in the center of the leaf, fold in the sides of the leaf, and roll from the bottom to the top.
- Line a large pot Place the prepared leaves tightly concentric circles, leaving no gaps between them. Repeat with until you run out of grape leaves.
- Add boiling water to pot that rolls are completely covered cook it for 1 hour, on low heat check a roll for doneness. The rice should be soft.
- When done, remove from heat. Drain the excess water. Gentle remove the rolls from pot to a serving platter. serve warm or cold enjoy .
