Rice with Raisins and allspice
This rice with raisins and allspice is a wonderful side dish with a rich flavor that can also be served as a meal on its own. It has incredibly well-balanced sweet and savory flavors. This simple and easy rice takes only 20 minutes to cook!
Rice with Raisins and allspice
- 2 cups jasmine rice
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 3 cups water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 4 tablespoons golden raisins
- Heat oil, butter in a pan .Add in raisins and rice, salt, allspice, black pepper. Cook for 5 minutes stirring occasionally. Pour water and let it cook covered over medium heat until it boils.
- Bring the heat to the lowest when it starts to boil and let it simmer until the rice is soft and all the water is gone.
- Give the rice a stir, then cover the pan, turn the heat down to very low, and cook until tender, about 15 minutes. Turn the heat off and let the rice sit (covered) 10 minutes, then fluff with a fork.Transfer to a serving dish and serve enjoy.
