Lamb Shank Recipe
- 2 lamb shanks
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
- 4 large garlic cloves minced
- 4 sprigs fresh thyme
- 3 sprigs fresh rosemary
- 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- pinch red chili flakes
- 3 cups beef broth
- 28- ounce can peeled tomatoes
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.Pat the lamb shanks dry and season with salt,black pepper.
- In a large Dutch oven pot heat 2 tablespoon olive oil over medium high heat. Working in batches, brown the lamb shanks on all sides about 5 mins.
- add to pot onions, garlic, fresh thyme ,rosemary, sweet paprika ,chili flakes and the broth, tomatoes.
- Cover the pot and transfer to the 375 degrees heated oven. Cook in the oven for 2 hours. check periodically through cooking just in case you need to add a little more liquid. Serve the lamb shanks hot enjoy.
