HOMEMADE SUGAR DONUTS
These Perfect Sugar Donuts are light and fluffy, and deliciously chewy. Covered in sugar. With this easy, delicious recipe, you can whip up a batch of donuts in about 30 minutes. and Make it once and you’ll never use a different recipe for donuts!
HOMEMADE SUGAR DONUTS
- 11/2 cups whole milk warm
- 2 teaspoon dry active yeast
- 1 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 4 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- oil for frying
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- In a small bowl, combine the yeast, milk and sugar. Mix well, and leave to sit for 5
minutes. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook. combine the flour, salt.
Mix briefly to combine. Add the eggs, butter, vanilla, baking powder and yeast mixture to the
bowl. Mix on low for 2-3 minutes ,until the dough is starting to come together. mix for
another 10 minutes, until the dough is soft and smooth. - Cover with a clean kitchen towel, place in a warm place and allow to rise for 1hour .Once risen, gently deflate the dough Divide the dough into about 12 even pieces. Working with one piece at a time, keeping the other pieces covered, roll out into about 10-inch rope. Twist, seal the end and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover the baking sheets with kitchen towel and let rest about 10 minutes.
- In a heavy-bottomed pot, heat oil to 340F fry each donut for about 2 minutes per side. to be golden brown. Once the fried donuts, roll them in a bowl of granulated sugar.1 cup of sugar should be enough for all the donuts enjoy.
