Hamburger Buns Recipe

These super soft hamburger buns are fun and easy to make. These buns soft, fluffy hamburger buns are definitely worth a try for any serious burger lover. It’s freezer friendly, you can make it in a large batch and freeze it for later!

Hamburger Buns

  • 1 cup warm whole milk about 110 ̊F
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 egg, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoon butter, softened
    Egg Wash and Toppings:
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  1. In a large mixing bowl combine warm milk,water, sugar, and yeast.Give it a good stir and let it become frothy in a warm place for about 10 minutes
  2. Add egg, flour,salt Use a dough hook attachment to mix the dough just until it comes together. Knead the dough for 5 minutes or until it is smooth.add butter Knead for 3 minutes The dough should feel sticky to the touch.
  3. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest in a warm place for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.Scrape the dough out onto a clean work surface cut it into 10 equal pieces roll each piece of dough into a ball over your clean work surface.
  4. Set dough balls onto parchment-lined baking sheet, keeping them evenly spaced. Flatten each dough ball into a 3 1/2” wide diameter, patting it down evenly. Cover the baking sheet and let it rest at room temperature for 20 minutes preheat the oven to 400 ̊F.
  5. Make the egg wash by beating together egg and water then brush it generously over the tops of the buns. Sprinkle on sesame seeds and bake for 30 minutes, or until the tops are golden enjoy.
