Ground beef Greek Tacos
Greek tacos. Ground beef seasoned with Greek flavor and topped with a fresh vegetable and homemade yogurt Tzatziki sauce does not get any better Make these tacos on a night when you want to change things up a little bit without having to slave for hours in the kitchen !
Ground beef Greek Tacos
Tzatziki
- 1 cucumber peeled and seeded
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 teaspoons minced garlic
- ½ teaspoon lemon juice
- ¼ teaspoon dried fresh dill
Meat - 1 lb. ground beef
- ½ onion minced
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 Tablespoons tomato paste
- 3 Tablespoons water
For serving - 4 pita breads
- 1/2 English cucumber, diced
- 2 chopped roma tomato
- 2 cups shredded Romaine lettuce
- For the tzatziki, sauce shred the cucumbers and blot with a clean kitchen towel to remove as much moisture as possible. Mix together the shredded cucumbers, yogurt, garlic, lemon juice. Add dill and Cover and keep in the fridge until serving.
- For the meat in a large skillet over medium-high heat, sauté ground beef and onions until beef is no longer pink, drain grease. Season with salt and pepper, as desired. Decrease temperature to low. Add oregano, garlic, tomato paste, 3 tablespoon water and to skillet and stir until meat is coated with seasonings Cook for about 10 minutes.
- Serve warm over pita bread with tomato, cucumber, lettuce and tzatziki sauce enjoy.
