Garlic Naan Bread
This homemade garlic naan bread It’s extra soft, doughy, chewy, and brushed generously with caramelized garlic cilantro butter. this Naan recipe is truly the best. Garlic Naan Bread
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 package (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm whole milk
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Garlic Butter, to brush on naan - 3 tablespoons salted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, grated
- 3/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1 teaspoon nigella seeds/kalonji
- Combine together the water, sugar and yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes until the mixture bubble on top.
- Add in the milk,flour baking powder and salt. Mix until the dough comes together with your hands.Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface.Use floured hands to knead the dough until smooth, about 5 minutes.
- Lightly grease the same mixing bowl with cooking oil. Transfer dough to the bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let rest at room temperature for about an hour until doubled in size.
- divide the dough into 6 equal pieces. Roll into balls, then use a rolling pin to roll each piece of dough into a large oval Repeat with remaining dough.
- Heat a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.Place one piece of the naan on hot skillet and cook until bubbles form on top, about 1-2 minutes.
- Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes, until large golden spots appear on the bottom. Repeat with the remaining naan.
- Combine melted butter and grated garlic together in a bowl. Brush each naan with the garlic butter and top with chopped cilantro, nigella seeds Serve warm enjoy.
