This easy sausage and mushrooms stuffing recipe is full of autumn flavor. Stuffing is one those side dishes that I wish I made much more often than I do.is Loaded with aromatic herbs and minced sausage, this dish will become a family favorite for holidays and cozy meals!
Easy Sausage & Mushrooms Stuffing Recipe
- 1 pound ground mild Italian sausage
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 cup onion, diced
- 1/2 cup celery, diced
- 1 cup (baby bella) mushrooms, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 tablespoon thyme, chopped
- 1 tablespoons sage, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary
chopped - 1 handful parsley, chopped
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups chicken stock
- Italian bread cut into 3/4 cubes
- Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a pan over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook until no longer pink, about 10 minutes, breaking it apart as you go and set it aside.
- Add 1 tablespoon butter, onions and celery to the pan and saute until tender, about 10 minutes.Add the mushrooms, garlic, thyme, sage,rosemary,salt and pepper and saute until everything is tender and just starting to brown.
- Mix the sausage, vegetables, parsley and bread in a large bowl and mix in the stock until all of the bread is moist.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and cover with foil.Bake in a preheated 375F oven for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue cooking until the top turns nice and golden brown, about 10 minutes enjoy.
