Couscous

This Couscous Recipe is the perfect light and flavorful couscous recipe. couscous is combined with golden raisins and garbanzo beans delicious side dish to serve for dinner. Pair this dish with your favorite grilled meat or seafood!

Couscous

  • 2 cups whole wheat couscous
  • 1/2 cup vermicelli noodles
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 whole cardamom pods
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 4 cups low-sodium vegetable broth or chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup golden raisins
  • 1 canned garbanzo beans, rinsed
  1. n a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add vermicelli noodles.and cook for 2 minutes You have to stir them frequently to achieve the golden brown color.
  2. Add the salt, pepper,cinnamon stick,cardamom,cumin and cook for 30 seconds.
  3. Pour in the broth. Increase the heat to high and bring it
    to a boil. As soon as the liquid begins to boil, remove the
    pan from the heat. Stir in the couscous and garbanzo
    beans, cover, and let sit for 20 minutes.
  4. With a fork, fluff up the couscous. Add the raisins then stir the ingredients together to combine serve hot enjoy.
