Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Frosting
For the Cake:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup baking cocoa
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup brewed coffee
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Frosting: - 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 5 cups powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 4 tablespoons milk
For the Cake:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease cake pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking soda, cocoa, salt, and baking powder.Add the vegetable oil, brewed coffee, whole milk, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix well using an electric mixer or whisk until smooth and well combined.
- Divide the batter evenly two prepared cake pan.Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
For the Frosting: - Beat the butter on high speed for 3-4 minutes until pale and fluffy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk, beating until the frosting reaches a smooth, spreadable consistency enjoy.
